Hoboken

Vainglorious sounds like Scott Walker turning up unannounced at a Pet Shop Boys Gig.
— Morning Star
Like the young Frank Sinatra transplanted to 1990s Berlin...delicious
— Logo Magazine
The best ever lounge singer crooning over pulsing electro.
— Time Out
A ritzy Goldfrapp with Tony Bennett singing. Quite spectacular.
— The List

Scott met Jonathan Carr at a Looper gig in 1999, a friendship formed and in 2001 they started the band Hoboken, a songwriting partnership which blended Jonathan's love of the classic American songbook with Scott’s love of 80s electro. Neil Cameron and Michael Banister completed the four piece on bass and keyboards/drums respectively. In 2003, under their own Royal Jelly Records imprint, Hoboken released their first single, Hotel Lisboa; second single, Vainglorious followed swiftly that same year and 2004 saw the release of album Crazy Glue. Another single Beauty Queen follwed in 2006 and a UK tour supporting The Human League. In 2007 however the band decided to call it a day. Jonathan is now a film maker and still collaborates with Scott on soundtracks, Neil is a Jazz and orchestral double bass player and Michael plays keyboards in the band Texas.
